The following lesson plans are supplementary to the main Connect curriculum and are designed to fulfil the full range of UK statutory guidance for RSE and Health Education for KS1/KS2. For each lesson plan there is a suggested ‘term’, however these lessons can be taught at any point in the school year.
Permission Seeking
This Lesson is designed to be delivered to Year 3 children (ages 7-8) and addresses the following DfE (2019) statutory outcome:
Relationships Education/ Respectful Relationships
- The importance of permission-seeking and giving in relationships with friends, peers and adults. 
Signs of Physical Illness
This Lesson is designed to be delivered to Year 4 children (ages 8-9) and addresses the following DfE (2019) statutory outcome:
Physical Health and Mental Wellbeing/ Health and Prevention
- How to recognise early signs of physical illness, such as weight loss, or unexplained changes to the body. 
- The facts and science relating to immunisation and vaccination 
Social Media
This Lesson is designed to be delivered to Year 5 children (ages 9-10) and addresses the following DfE (2019) statutory outcome:
Physical Health and Mental Wellbeing/ Internet Safety and Harms
- Why social media, some computer games and online gaming, for example, are age restricted. 
Mental Ill Health
This Lesson is designed to be delivered to Year 6 children (ages 10-11) and addresses the following DfE (2019) statutory outcome:
Physical Health and Mental Wellbeing/ Mental Wellbeing
- It is common for people to experience mental ill health.
